Michael steadied the truck, glanced around, then gave Alex a sheepish grin. "Sorry. Though, I mean...I kept it on the road. I'll pay more attention..." His tone was a little bit wheedling, because, sure it was dangerous, but he could keep them safe, and, really. He didn't want Alex taking his hand away.
