The comment about his love shack got a genuine laugh out of Michael that broke his tension a little. “I can’t say that’s ever occurred to me, but I’m open to multipurposing it.”
It wasn’t like it was actually being used for anything more than hiding away pieces of themselves that they didn’t understand.
He nodded, though, reaching for the wood. “On three...” He counted it down, and, really, the wood came away easily; it wasn’t meant as a serious deterrent so much as a “nothing interesting here.” Granted, he could’ve moved it with his power, but...trying to seem normal here.
Aware it would be kinda creepy to follow Alex in, he led the way. Sunlight lit the way for the first bit, but as it faded, they weren’t left in the dark - long before you could see them, the pods’ glow lit the tunnel.
Michael started trying to calm his nerves, glancing back at Alex. “I’m breaking every rule Max has ever laid down, but...I don’t want to keep secrets. I want you to know the real me.”
