Michael coughed on a touch of a laugh at that and hoped it didn’t sound hysterical. “I guess you have,” he said, cheeks turning red. He could feel the tension in the truck, or at least his own, but didn’t know how to change that. He was second guessing himself around in circles, doubting his choice, but wanting to, still.
That made him pretty quiet on the short drive deeper in the desert. When he got close enough, he parked and hopped out.
“I’m gonna need your help...” he said, tilting his head toward the boarded up entrance. “It pulls off easy enough, but it does take two hands.”
